About FC Cincinnati: FC Cincinnati is a Major League Soccer team playing at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Originally founded in 2015 by Carl H. Lindner III and Co-CEO Jeff Berding, FCC began play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. FCC entered MLS as the 24th team in 2019. The club’s wide and diverse ownership group is led by controlling owner Lindner III; as well as managing owners Meg Whitman and Dr. Griff Harsh; Scott Farmer; and George Joseph. FC Cincinnati opened the club’s privately funded, 26,000-seat soccer-specific TQL Stadium in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati in 2021, a venue which has won numerous global awards including the World Football Summit Best Venue 2022 in Madrid and the 2022 Prix Versailles World Title in the Sports Category in Paris, France. The club earned its first MLS Cup Playoffs berth in 2022, advancing to the Eastern Conference semifinal as the no. 5 seed. The club won the 2018 USL Regular-Season Championship in record-setting fashion and earned postseason berths in all three of its USL seasons. In 2017, FC Cincinnati also advanced to the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a run that included victories over two MLS squads.

Position Summary: FC Cincinnati is seeking a Director of Digital Content with a passion for fan engagement and brand development. This individual will lead the strategy, planning, development, and execution of FCC's digital content to drive audience engagement across all platforms. This position reports to the SVP, Integrated Marketing & Communications and will oversee the social media and content production teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the digital team in the creation of breakthrough content and engaging social conversations.
  • Work with department leads to develop and map content strategies and plans based on club goals, marketing objectives, and sponsorship needs.
  • Create content and video concepts in accordance with our key tentpole moments, brand campaigns and partnership obligations. Be able to prioritize these concepts by highest impact against our goals and drive focus for the digital team.
  • Oversee and manage in-house content development team to plan, schedule and implement content initiatives across FC Cincinnati’s online assets (social media channels, web, app, and email) as well as media partners and other distribution channels, as required.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence team to establish performance goals and take an insight-based approach to content strategy and optimization.
  • Develop relationships with distribution partners and platforms, stay up to date and informed on industry best practices and trends and lead continual development of new, innovative ideas to strengthen our connection with fans and drive brand value.
  • Work in collaboration with Corporate Partnerships to drive strategic partner content extensions and support new sponsorship pitches.
  • Maintain working knowledge of camera equipment, production studio equipment and editing software.
  • Provide recommendations to streamline or enhance production capabilities and productions.
  • Oversee content execution and ensure content is consistent in terms of quality, style, brand expression and brand voice across platforms to optimize user experience and contribute to the overall FC Cincinnati brand identity.
  • Other related duties as required.

What You'll Bring:

  • Hands-on experience in management, ideation, production and execution of breakthrough, compelling, and creative content.
  • Possess a learning mindset and the ability to collaborate across teams and functions to deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience leading a production team and/or creative services team preferred.
  • Knowledgeable and interested in keeping up with the latest trends in sport, pop culture, design, music, lifestyle, fashion, etc.
  • Ability to utilize data to develop and optimize strategy.
  • Passion for creativity, storytelling, design, and elevating brands through digital mediums.
  • Strong understanding of digital media, including all types of content, social media, websites, etc. as well as the content distribution landscape and the advantages of different distribution strategies and platforms.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5-7 years of work experience with digital content strategy and creation, and proven ability to use content to further brand and business objectives.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years managing a team.

Match Day Responsibilities

The Creative Director may have professional obligations for FC Cincinnati games during the season, including preseason, regular-season, postseason and in-season tournaments. Additionally, any special events hosted by the club – including international friendlies – maybe included.

Work Hours

In addition to normal business hours, weekend, evening and holiday work will be required as schedule and project workload dictates. Travel, including international, may be required.
